Elite 8 of the 2025 NWAC Volleyball Championship Begins This Friday at Columbia Basin College

The 2025 NWAC Volleyball Championship Elite 8 begins this Friday at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington.

Eight teams will vie for the championship title as a new champion will be crowned after battling through a competitive regional round at host sites. The East region proved its overall strength as all four teams in the regionals qualified for the Elite 8. No. 4 Spokane shocked their regional with upsets of Highline and Bellevue to take the No. 1 slot out of the West Regional. Treasure Valley, Yakima Valley and Walla Walla each finished as the No. 2 seeds in their respective regionals. Edmonds extended its winning streak to 33-straight matches as they ranked No. 1 in the final coaches' poll. Perennial contenders Linn-Benton won the East Regional and the South Region Champions Rogue won their own regional.

Schedule
11 AM - S2/E2 Yakima Valley vs. N1/N1 Edmonds
The Yaks and Tritons played twice in early September during crossovers as Edmonds took both matches, first by a sweep and then in five sets. The Yaks have finished third the past two seasons in a row as they look to make it to the championship game for the first time since 1989. Yakima Valley has never won the NWAC volleyball title. The Tritons enter the Elite 8 with the best record in the NWAC at 34-1 and will be looking to capture their second-ever title and first since 1979.

2 PM - E2/E1 Treasure Valley vs. W1/E4 Spokane
With four East region teams making the Elite 8, there was bound to be at least one rivalry matchup in the quarterfinals. The Chukars and Sasquatch played twice during the regular season with the East Region champion Chukars sweeping both matchups. However, Spokane comes into the Elite 8 as the home team in the matchup, thanks to their impressive run in the regional rounds. The Sasquatch last won the title in 2019 and will be looking for their 8th overall title, the second most in NWAC history. Treasure Valley has never won the title, but is coming off one of their best seasons in program history in 2024 when they also made the Elite 8. They look to improve upon that finish in 2025.

5 PM - W2/N2 Bellevue vs. E1/S2 Linn-Benton
The Bulldogs are the No. 2 seed out of the West Regionals after taking down Highline in the final match to advance. They have had one of the best records in the NWAC this year at 30-3 and took down Linn-Benton earlier in the year in three sets. The Bulldogs have perenial contenders in the Elite 8, but are looking to capture their first title championship, last finishing as runners-up in 2017. They will take on Linn-Benton who has been a juggernaut the past four years with three titles and a second place finish in 2024. The Roadrunners have had another strong season with a 24-6 record and took the No. 1 seed at the East Regional last weekend. They look to capture their fourth title in the past five seasons.

8 PM - N2/E3 Walla Walla vs. S1/S1 Rogue
The final matchup of the Elite 8 round will feature the Warriors against the Ospreys. The two teams played once in September as Rogue swept Walla Walla. The Warriors earned the No. 2 seed out of the North regional as they defeated Lower Columbia in a five-set match to keep their season going. Another East Region team, the Warriors have come on strong with six wins in their last seven matches. They will vie for their second program title and first since 2005. Rogue is a young program that has steadily improved each season, culminating in this year's South Region title. They took care of business at their own South Regional, defeating defending champions Skagit Valley and Centralia. The Ospreys have never won the title and are looking for their first Elite 8 victory.
